Lorraine LaCroix is an Educational Consultant for the Long Beach Unified School District in Southern California. In this capacity she trains new teachers, coaches veteran educators and provides professional development geared toward improved instructional practices. During her 15-year career with the district, she has worked as a classroom and mentor teacher and has served in a number of leadership roles.

Valerie Hastings Gregory has devoted much of her professional life to shaping professional learning communities in schools. She has promoted effective professional develop-ment as a school building, central office, and Virginia Department of Education administrator for elementary education and gifted education.

In her position as Director of the William and Mary School Leadership Institute, Jan Rozzelle Nikas directs multiple school reform partnerships with Virginia public school dis-tricts. One partnership with five rural school districts has focused on improving leading and learning in 15 schools for the past 4 years, particularly in the area of literacy.

Laura Flynn received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1992, and followed with her Master of Arts in Elementary Education in 1994, from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Ellen Flynn received her Bachelor 's degree in Elementary Education in 1994, followed by her Master's in 1995, from the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She has been a classroom teacher since 1994 at Chelwood Elementary School in the Albuquerque Public School District.  She has served as a consultant with both the University of New Mexico and the College of Santa Fe regarding teaching with rubrics, Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, and teaching thematically.

Dr. Margulus has worked as a teacher and administrator at all grade levels of traditional and alternative K-12 schools. Her experience has included high-need, urban settings as well as suburban and rural schools.

Jacquelyn Melin is Affiliate Professor at Grand Valley State University, where she teaches classes in curriculum development and differentiated instruction.  She also has served as the Director of the School of Education Student Information and Services Center.  She was a public school educator in Rockford, Michigan for 32 1/2 years, serving as an elementary and middle school teacher, as teacher/coordinator of gifted and talented students and as an elementary principal.

Brandt W. Pryor is Director of The Evaluation Group, College of Education, at Texas A&M University, College Station, where he now leads statewide studies of high school reform efforts. He is also an educational research consultant specializing in attitude and behavior studies. He has previously served as Associate Professor, Department of   Educational Leadership, Lamar University, and Senior Research Associate in the College of Education at Arizona State University.
