The Distance Learning Virtual Workshop Series
As our transition from crisis teaching to distance learning comes to fruition, it is more critical than ever to organize virtual instruction with a clear set of learning intentions, success criteria, and instructional guidelines. Utilizing what educators everywhere have learned over the course of pandemic teaching, we can now improve our overall strategy to adapt to any and every environment and promote effective Distance Learning.
The Distance Learning live, virtual workshops support educators in building both our students' capacity (and our own) for distance learning through the application of Visible Learning® research. Each professional learning day will focus on the exploration of learning intentions and associated success criteria.
Distance Learning for Teachers
Teaching at a distance doesn’t need to be crisis teaching. This 2-day virtual workshop series delves into the evidence on best teaching, assessment, and planning practices for your online classroom utilizing the strategies/modules in the Distance Learning Playbook, Grades K-12.
The Distance Learning virtual experience includes:
- A copy of The Distance Learning Playbook, Grades K-12, available in print and eBook format.
- Live, synchronous interactive webinars that explore the nine modules of the Distance Learning framework and provide a space for inquiry.
- An opportunity for teams to focus on credibility, create meaningful learning experiences, and offer feedback that increases impact.
Distance Learning for Leaders
School leaders have the potential to maximize learning across the school, even from a distance. To do so, leaders must spend time developing and maintaining the climate and culture of the school, focus on instructional leadership, and develop mindframes that will allow us to lead effectively, now and for the future.
The Distance Learning virtual experience includes:
- A copy of The Distance Learning Playbook for School Leaders, available in print and eBook format.
- Live, synchronous interactive webinars that explore establishing and maintaining a culture of achievement even when teachers and students are not on campus, supporting teachers with instructional moves that impact students’ learning, and developing leading mindframes
- An opportunity for teams to focus on leading the learning of others, instructional leadership, and supporting online teaching
