Kristin Speck is a teacher at Health Sciences High and Middle College (HSHMC) in San Diego, California. She holds credentials in secondary science, Career Technical Education, and a Master's degree in K-12 literacy. Kristin regularly serves as a master teacher for local teacher candidates. In addition to her experience as a teacher, she has experience activating interdisciplinary Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). Kristin is a proud member of HSHMC's science PLC, which received recognition for their work through the Shirley Hord Teacher Learning Team Award in 2019. This award highlights the impact of their implementation of literacy strategies in science. In addition, she is passionate about providing professional development on Restorative Practices and Social-Emotional Learning.
